Presentation “Possibilities of digitazing works of art in Kanut” introduces the digitazation of works of art and different artefacts of cultural value in Estonian Open Air Museum Conservation and Digitazation Centre Kanut. Presentation by Martin Sermat and Joel Leis.
Kanut has been engaged in conservation, restauration and digitazation of art, furniture, bookbindings, documents, photos and different kind of items for over 30 years.The main clientele of Kanut is composed of Estonian museums and archives, different institutions and privat individuals, including Estonian artists. Majority of the items digitazed by our center is assambled of photos, negatives, glass plate negatives, maps, documents, photoalbums and several different objects and artefacts.
Conservation centre Kanut is using the latest digitazing equipment, whitch renders possible to produce high quality image files. Of artworks we have created fine copies of paintings, graphics, aquarelles etc. High quality digitazation of glass plate negatives and other photographic transparencies makes attainable to produce new copies without damageing the original.
