Tallinn Photomonth contemporary art biennial kicks off on 6 September at 6pm with the opening of the first exhibition of the biennial’s main programme, curated by Heidi Ballet.

When You Say We Belong To The Light We Belong To The Thunder studies the intruding pull of nationalism in relation to ecological concerns, bringing together 12 international artist.

The opening is preceded by a public discussion between the curator, researcher and artists at 4pm in the cafe of EKKM. The evening continues with the opening festivities of the biennial in the yard and cafe of EKKM.

A live concert by Seltskond Pargis and an afterparty starting at 9pm will mark the transition to the night and the two months of the biennial that follow.
