Taking care of yourself can be part of your daily routine. It can be carried out as a conscious action; often we take time out of our day for it or connect it to our other daily activities. Self-care, without placing it in different potential contexts, plays an important role in maintaining an individual’s freedom and well-being.
From our individual starting points, we portray different personal meanings – what does self-care mean to us? Be it maintaining our outer appearance (aesthetic perspective), stabilising our mental health (meditative activities), taking concrete action in a situation or finding a way to relieve the stress caused by mental overstimulation. By defining this term, we try to understand how much the questions ‘Who am I?’ and ‘Where do my boundaries lie?’ can be answered through our self-care rituals.
