Discussion: Telling Your Story. Of the Contemporary Photographic Art. Moderated by Hirohisa Koike

29.09 19:00

Estonian Photographic Art Fair, Telliskivi Creative City, bar Pudel 2nd floor

In the situation of borderless and global, shared and simultaneously commented environment, the storytelling in photography as a conscious act becomes more important than ever before. We will be exploring and discussing the importance and role of storytelling in fine art photography through various topics. For example in the context of augmentation of international art photography fairs and festivals, is there “an international style” or is each photograph related to the local history of photography?

Hirohisa Koike is a PhD student at Tallinn University. Based on the conceptual legacy of Roland Barthes and Jacques Derrida, his planned thesis will examine the role of delay and desire in photography.
