Anneli Ivaste’s photo series and exhibition Souls are Aching in Autumn is a delicate and warm insight into the last quarter of life, when a human body and spirit have become so fragile that they can no longer cope on their own. The roles within the family change imperceptibly, and the time spent with a loved one takes on a completely different meaning. Connecting the arc of life with the continuous change of seasons creates a calm mood in the exhibition and reconciles the inevitability of the passage of time.

Anneli Ivaste (1970) is a documentary photographer working in Tallinn. She has a MA degree  in Cultural Management from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. In 2023, she completed a one-year photography course at the Estonian Academy of Arts. On a daily basis, Anneli Ivaste works as a communications manager-editor and photographer of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir. As an artist, she is fascinated by creative processes both on the concert stage, in the rehearsal hall and in life (exhibitions General Rehearsal, Voice Spaces and Borderline Sounds) and personal, yet universal stories.

The  exhibition organizer is Kristel Schwede, gallerist and curator of Galerii Positiiv.
